The author in his article supported himself with many other articles, but for the purposes of my project I have listed a few of them:

World Health Organization: Fact Sheet on Wheelchair Users: This document provides a global context for mobility disabilities, highlighting the prevalence of wheelchair users and the issues they face. This is the key background to understanding why technologies like IoT and AR are so important to improving accessibility.

Quintana et al., 2016: This paper provides insight into how sensory technology, similar to that used in the IoT, is being applied to improve efficiencies in retail. Although not directly related to disabilities, it provides a broader context on the applications of IoT technology.

Sabelman & Lam, 2015: This article discusses the potential risks of augmented reality that are important to consider when developing AR systems for people with disabilities. This is particularly important due to the fact that, like any technology related to internet connection, it is not 100% secure.
